Mastering Your Schedule + Workflow

February 21, 2023 | Mary Beth Braun

The key to mastering your schedule is planning and blocking out time for specific tasks—in other words, daily planning.

Conquer your mornings by determining your daily top priorities the night before or first thing in the morning. Next, block out time for your top priorities in the time when you are personally most productive. If you’re not sure what that time is, experiment with mornings, afternoons and evening times and see what you learn.

During that time, don’t answer email, phone calls or listen to voicemail. Turn off your phone ringer, alerts on your phone or email. Studies show it takes an average of 23 minutes and 15 seconds to get back to the task once interrupted. That’s a lot of lost productivity!
